Senior Pastor Search

Reidland Baptist Church of Paducah, Kentucky is prayerfully seeking a full-time pastor for our church located in the Reidland area of Paducah. RBC is conveniently located between Kentucky Lake and Paducah. We are affiliated with the Southern Baptist Convention and adhere to the doctrines outlined in the Baptist Faith and Message 2000. We're a multigenerational congregation, with an average weekly attendance of 125. Our church is active in missions, discipleship, with a youth and children's ministry.

The pastor is responsible to the church to proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ, to teach the biblical revelation, to engage in pastoral care ministries such as respond to members in emergency needs; visit members in the hospital, to provide spiritual leadership in all areas of church life, and to direct the activities of the paid staff and work with the volunteer staff. Responsibilities include:

-Plan and conduct the worship services, prepare and deliver sermons, lead in observance of ordinances.
-Lead the church in an effective outreach program of witnessing, and in a caring ministry for persons in the church and community.
-Visit members, and prospects.
-Conduct biblical counseling sessions, perform wedding ceremonies, and conduct funerals.
-Work with deacons and church ministry leadership teams, planning, organizing, directing, coordinating, and evaluating the total church programs.
-Work with committees as they perform their assigned responsibilities.
-Work with the deacons in a program of family ministries.
-Cooperate with associational, state, and denominational leaders in matters of mutual interest and support; keep the church informed of denominational development, represent the church in civic matters.
-Preference given to someone with Southern Baptist Convention (SBC or like theology) college/seminary degree but will consider all applicants.
